How to serve a children meal

Once you have found out that you have a child at your table you should follow the procedure below.

  1. Present the menus the same way and give the child his menu as well.
  1. At this stage ask the parents if you would like to order straight for the child.
Note. Children have short attention span; it is vital that your get the child order as soon as possible.


  1. If the parents give the order take it normally. If they ask you to come back, come back within three to four minutes.

  3. Once the parent’s meals are ready bring them to the table.
  4. When setting the table for a child checks with the parents if they have any problems giving the child a knife or fork. Some children will only have a spoon.
  1. Follow the same standard for any other course. Always bring the child meal first unless otherwise told by the parents.
