How to Open a bottle of Red Wine

  1. To show the guest the bottle by resting the bottle on your right hand long ways, making sure that the label is facing outwards
  1. To place the bottle on wine on the basket on the table facing the guest. Making sure that the label is always facing the guest
  1. To cut the foil in a clockwise direction below the rim, making sure that the top portion is only cut. Placing the foil in your pocket.

  1. To place your corkscrew into the centre of the cork and slowly turning until you have reach half way down the corkscrew.
  1. Place the arm of the corkscrew on the rim of the bottle then at a 45% angle lift the cork out of the bottle. Note. That no popping noise is be be made from the bottle.
  1. Unscrew the cork and place on the cork on the small silver coaster next to the host on the right side of his red wine glass.
  1. With your waiter cloth wipe the debris from the top of the bottle in a clockwise motion.
  1. Pick up the bottle with the label showing and pour from the right side into the host glass. Note. Never pour more than 2/10 of the glass and twist the bottle so no splits occur on the table.
  1. Wait while the host tastes the wine and give his approval. Once approval proceeds and pours the ladies firstly moving around the table clockwise. If no ladies are on the table pour the gentlemen first in a clockwise motion then pour the host last
  1. Note. NEVER POUR THE GLASS MORE THAN 2/3 FULL. SHOULD THE HOST COMPLIANT THAT THE WINE IS BAD IT MUST BE REPLACED WITHOUT QUESTION
  1. Once the guest’s wine is poured finish pouring the host glass. Always twisting the bottle so that no wine is spilt on the table. Note. Place the remainder of the bottle on the coaster on the table
  1. Farewell yourself from the table.
  1.  Make sure that you return to the table to pour more Wine before glass is completely empty, any wine glass must never be empty as long as there is wine on the table
When refilling wine, always offer to top up all other glasses in phrase ‘ may I top up your glass with some wine “
14.Offer the host another bottle whenever 
     suitable
